Demo of a Test Prism Shoe and Part of Assembly Process's Description
 This is a short demo that shows you part of the final assembly process of a prism shoe.
The clear shoe is a test shoe. In this video there are several faceplates. The clear ones are test faceplates that I’ve used in the past as part of the development. The two clear faceplates look identical, but they actually are slightly different. I no longer use these faceplates but I am including a demo in this video, to show how a clear faceplate makes it easier to study the action.
In the second part of the video I temporarily install a finished locking faceplate on the clear test shoe. I go through some steps, to show how it work and also show a close up on the action form behind, seen through the clear test shoe.
Since all the parts are made by hand there are sometimes slight variations in the measurements. That is why I test all faceplates on the clear shoe before I do the final install.
At the end of the video I show how the faceplate would fit into the actual shoe it was made for.  |
